The beginning...

Ok...everyone I know has been blogging! A lot of my friends have blogs. I thoroughly enjoy reading everyone else's blogs regarding engagements, weddings, life as newlyweds, babies, etc. I decided that when Alex and I got engaged, I would start a blog so that everyone could follow our wedding planning, life as newlyweds and so on! Well...we have been engaged now for 3 months, so I decided today I would create our blog. I am excited to share what's on my mind, the ups, the downs, and excitment of planning my wedding.

As many of you know, Alex and I have been dating for 7 1/2 years. We pretty much grew as individuals through high school and college together. I knew he was the one I would marry eventually...I just wasn't sure when! I have only dreamed about our wedding and when this particular time in our lives would come. Now that it's finally here I could not be more excited!!!

We are now in the midst of planning a tropical beach wedding in Jamaica! We are both very excited about traveling to Jamaica to get married because neither one of us have ever been there before. Once Alex and I got engaged, we both knew we didn't want the traditional white, fairytale, extravagant, hometown wedding. That's not us! We wanted a wedding that would be fun and carefree! I always knew that I wanted a beach wedding. We couldn't dream of a better setting than the white sand beaches of Jamaica!

I am looking forward to sharing our wonderful experience of an engaged and married couple! This is only the beginning, and I can't wait to see what life has in store for us!
