Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful Christmas! I am working throughout the Christmas holiday while Alex is back in Hartsville with family. I went to Hartsville last Saturday and came back Wednesday night since I had to work Thursday. Alex drove there Sunday night after work. He has been in Hartsville all week! He will be here tomorrow (Christmas day) night when I get home from work. I can't wait to see Alex and spend Christmas night with him! Alex and I opened Christmas gifts from our parents while I was there. My parents gave us a digital picture frame (which I had been wanting) and 2 brown leather ottomans for our house. Alex's parents gave us a Cuisinart-Keurig single serve brewing station (which I REALLY wanted since I love coffee)! I also got a pearl bracelet to wear with my wedding dress. Alex got some new Rainbow sandals to take to Jamaica! We got together at Alex's parent's house Tuesday night to eat dinner. They invited my mom over to eat with us (my dad was working). We were sitting down eating when all of a sudden Lauren, Anna, & Katherine busted through the door and surprised us! I didn't think I was going to get to see the girls while I was there since I had to come back before Christmas. Lauren had told us that she wasn't coming to Hartsville until Christmas Eve! I was so sad that I was going to miss them since I hadn't seen them for a while. I LOVE those little girls! Alex knew about them coming early and kept the secret from me! I was so glad I got to see them before I had to come back to Mount Pleasant. The next morning we went over to take the girls their Christmas presents so I could watch them open them before I left to drive back to Charleston. We got Anna a Fur-real dog that walks on a leash, barks, whimpers when it falls over, and turns it's head when you pet it. She loved it! Katherine got a pink pig pillow pet. We had so much fun with them! Thanks Lauren for surprising me! Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Congratulations Jay & Telissa!

I just wanted to congratulate Alex's cousin Jay on his engagement to his girlfriend Telissa! We are very excited for you two! We are so glad Telissa is going to become a part of the family! We have many memories ahead of us. I hope y'all have a marriage full of good times & happiness! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Push! Push! Push!

I just started orienting to labor and delivery about a week ago. I am thrilled that this opportunity came my way! Those of you who know me know that I've always wanted to be a L&D nurse. It's an extremely exciting and rewarding job! You get to help bring new lives into the world every day! It is an amazing sound when you hear a newborn cry for the first time. I enjoy the excitement and challenge of labor, and helping moms work towards the ultimate goal of meeting their little bundle of joy! I also enjoy the mix of procedures (C-Sections in the OR, recovery room, inductions, labor checks, non-stress tests, etc.) instead of the same routine every day. Every day brings you something totally different. Bring on the excitement!

Engagement Photo Shoot

A little over a week ago, Alex and I went to Boone Hall Plantation for an engagement photo shoot. Our photographer was GREAT! His name is Chris Smith from Chris & Cami Photography here in Charleston. He took BEAUTIFUL pictures! If you are in the Charleston area and need a photographer, I highly recommend him. We did an hour photo shoot from 4:00-5:00 in the evening right before sunset. It was a gorgeous day! I am so excited to finally have really good pictures of Alex and I. You can check out all of our pictures or view the slideshow at http://chrisandcami.com/zenfolio.com/p1017760403. Here are some of my favorites!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! I was able to go to Hartsville to eat Thanksgiving dinner with my family at my Gaga's house. My dad fried a turkey (which is my favorite thing about Thanksgiving dinner besides the sweet potato casserole that my mom makes and my Gaga's lemon pie)! Unfortunately, Alex was on 3rd shift and had to work. We sure did miss him at dinner! I was able to make it back to Mt. Pleasant in time to bring him A LOT of food before he left for work. We will be able to eat for a few days off of the food that I brought back! Thanks Mama and Gaga!

Although the food is great, Thanksgiving is truly a time to reflect on all of the blessings in our lives. Alex and I have a lot to be thankful for. We are truly blessed to be able to live the life that we do. We have great family and friends that love us! We have good jobs, a roof over our heads, and food on the table. Alex and I are most thankful for each other. I can't wait to marry my best friend on the gorgeous island of Jamaica in March!

It's beginning to feel alot like Christmas...

I LOVE this time of the year! Christmas is my favorite holiday. I put up our 1st Christmas tree together about 2 weeks ago. I know that seems early, but I was in the Christmas spirit! I love to sit on the couch at night with Alex with the Christmas tree lights on. Now, we just need some presents under it! I thought I would post some pictures of our very 1st Christmas tree!

GO COCKS!

I had to post that I am sooooooo excited that we beat Florida @ the swamp last night for the first time ever! The final score was 36-14! We are the SEC East champs and going to the SEC Championship game in Atlanta on December 4th to play Auburn! Way to go boys! Thanks Coach Spurrier! I am amazed by Marcus Lattimore & Alshon Jeffery (Stephen Garcia played awesome as well)! They are all great football players! Lattimore broke a school record last night by rushing over 1000 yards this season (and he still has 2 more games to go)! We will be cheering on the Gamecocks on Dec. 4th! GO COCKS! :)

Hey everyone! Sorry it's taken me so long to post. Things have been pretty crazy between finding a place, both of us starting new jobs, and moving! We love our condo! It's located in Mount Pleasant right off of the Isle of Palms connector in Seaside Farms.
It's centrally located to everything. It's right in the middle of Mount Pleasant. The new hospital is only 10 minutes away, Nucor is about 20 minutes down the road, IOP 2 minutes, Sullivan's Island 10 minutes, and downtown Charleston is about 15 minutes away. Towne Center (the new big shopping plaza) is located right behind our condo. Boone Hall Plantation is only 5 minutes away. We also have a gas station, Piggly Wiggly, Target, Yamato Japanese Steak House, a coffee shop, a pizza place, and other restaurants/shops right in our neighborhood! There are ponds across the street with walking trails where I walk Bentley every day. It's really nice! We always see fish jumping, ducks, egrets, blue herons, and turtles on our walks.
I will try to be better at updating our blog more often now that we are finally settled in! :)
