Our new condo!

We are now official Mount Pleasant residents! We found a condo to rent near the Isle of Palms. It's only about 1.5 miles to the beach! It's located in a nice, quiet neighborhood just off the IOP Connector called Seaside Farms. We have our own Target, Piggly Wiggly, Yamato Japanese Steak House, coffee shop, gas station, and other restaurants, spas, and shops within the community. It's really neat! We also have a very nice park across the street with ponds and walking trails. Bentley (our dachshund) loves it! I walk him down by the ponds every day. There are ducks, geese, blue herons, egrets, and fish jumping everywhere. It's really quiet and peaceful!

Our condo is two bedrooms/one bath with a living room, kitchen, dining area, and screened porch (my favorite part)! There is a clubhouse with a pool, gym, and business center. Here are some pictures of our new place!

Charleston, Here I Come!

As many of you know, I have been going on job interviews in the Charleston area for about 3 weeks now. I went on my second interview Tuesday for a postpartum position at the new Roper St. Francis Mount Pleasant Hospital that is opening on November 1st. I received a call today from Human Resources wanting to know if I would accept the job! I am soooooo excited! I start September 27th...which is in 2 weeks! The hospital is very nice and new. I am excited about working at the brand new facility! Everything is CLEAN! Roper St. Francis also just received MAGNET status which is really cool to be a part of as a nurse! They are only the 2nd hospital in SC to receive magnet status!

Now, I have to find an apartment to rent until Alex and I find a house. We are going to go apartment hunting next week. We are planning to sign a 6 month lease, and by then, hopefully we'll be ready to buy a house! We are going to look at houses in Mount Pleasant, since that is where I'll be working and it's also closest to Nucor. I am VERY excited to move to Mount Pleasant! I hate being away from Alex. I'll keep everyone updated on which apartment we decide on!

"It's Time for Carolina Football!"

GAAAAAMMMMMMEEEEEE.........COOOOOCCCCKKKKKSSSSSS! I am super excited that football season is finally here! It's my favorite time of the year! Luckily, I am off today and tomorrow, so I can watch the game (Isn't that convenient? I didn't plan my work schedule that strategically....wink-wink)! Unfortunately, Alex is in Charleston and has to work tonight, so he won't be able to watch it. I'll update him tomorrow! I only wish we could be at Williams-Brice in person tonight. I miss the tailgating, the entrance to 2001, cocky, and all of the yelling and excitement of being in the middle of it all. I will be yelling at the TV and jumping up and down in my living room. Good luck boys! C-A-R-O-L-I-N-A...GOOOOOO COCKS!!!!

Charleston bound...

Congratulations Alex!!! Alex just got hired for a position at Nucor Steel in Charleston. He starts next Monday! We are so excited! He has been waiting since he graduated in December for the right job, and he finally found it. Luckily, his cousin already has an apartment there since he also works at Nucor. Alex is going to be staying with him for a while until I find a job and we get a house (hopefully before we go to Jamaica).

We are so excited about living in Charleston! I'm thrilled to be living at the beach! I'll be at the beach every day I'm off! There is so much for us to do in Charleston. We are hoping to buy a house in Mount Pleasant when we find the right one. We're going to have to have some extra bedrooms because I have a feeling both of our families will be visiting a lot since we'll be living at the beach! : ) We'll keep everyone updated!

Weekend Trip to Macon

Alex and I went to Macon over the weekend to keep Anna while John, Lauren, and Katherine went out of town for a friend's wedding. We had so much fun! We started out opening presents that we brought for her! She got bubbles, sugar cookies, color wonder paint and paper, a gumball machine, Elmo panties, & bracelets (yes, we spoil her)! We played outside, painted pictures, colored, baked cookies, watched movies, and even went to Target to buy her a new movie (she picked out Toy Story). We love going to Macon to see the girls! We can't wait to go back soon! Here are some pictures to show what we did over the weekend...

Anna opening her gumball machine since she said Alex and I ate all of her gumballs at the beach!

The best invention ever=Color Wonder paint! It's clear paint and it only works on Color Wonder paper. It turns from clear to a color when you put it on the paper.

Opening sugar cookie mix!

Chasing bubbles Uncle Alex was blowing.

She blew a really big one!

Her favorite present! Painting with her Color Wonder paint!

Talking to Mommy on the phone.

Saying "Cheese" for the camera!

Riding her tricycle.

Just hanging out on the front porch!

Baking sugar cookies with pink sprinkles!

Playing her guitar for us and singing!

Look who showed up on Sunday! :)

Alex's New Truck

Alex finally got a new truck! It's a 2008 4-door pewter GMC. I love it! It's a nice truck. He desperately needed it. Here are some pictures!

A Fun Week at the Beach!

Alex and I went to the beach last week for the 4th. We drove down to Garden City Sunday night on the 4th after I got off work. Alex's parents and his step-brother, Ryan, were already there. When we arrived, we went straight to the beach to watch the fireworks along the shoreline. It was amazing! There were fireworks everywhere down both ends of the beach! I wish I would have took my camera and snapped some pictures of that amazing fireworks show! Lauren, John, Anna, and Katherine came down Monday evening. We had the best time, especially with Anna and Katherine! We don't get to see them too often since they live in Georgia, so Alex and I enjoy spending time with them whenever we can. We swam in the pool, went to the beach, grilled out, went shopping, and of course went to Painter's for some ice cream! I wasn't ready to go home! Alex and I can't wait until Friday when we'll get to see the girls again. We are driving down to Macon to keep the girls for the weekend while Lauren & John are going to a friend's wedding. We are going to have so much fun! We even get to go to Zoo Atlanta on Sunday! I'll keep everyone posted how it goes. And of course we'll take lots of pictures! Here are some pictures from our beach trip...
